Terms of Service

Last updated: August 7, 2026

Draft — not legal advice.A reasonable starting template, not a substitute for review by a lawyer. The bracketed [YOUR KVK NUMBER]placeholder still needs to be filled in before this should be treated as binding — see the "Who operates ModDock" section below for why it matters.

1. Acceptance

By adding the ModDock bot to a Discord server, or signing in to its web dashboard, you agree to these Terms. If you're adding the bot on behalf of a server, you're confirming you have the authority to do so (i.e. you have "Manage Server" permission there).

2. What ModDock is

ModDock is a Discord moderation bot and companion web dashboard: automod, manual moderation commands, verification, tickets, leveling, and related server-management features, described in more detail on the homepage. It is provided as a tool for server admins — we don't moderate your server for you or make decisions about your members.

3. Eligibility

You must meet Discord's own minimum age requirement (currently 13, or higher where required by local law) and comply with Discord's Terms of Service and Community Guidelines while using ModDock.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use ModDock for anything illegal, or to harass, abuse, or harm others
  • Attempt to disrupt, overload, or gain unauthorized access to ModDock or its infrastructure
  • Use the reporting feature to submit knowingly false reports
  • Reverse-engineer or resell ModDock without permission

We may suspend or remove ModDock's access to your server, or your dashboard access, for violating these Terms or Discord's own rules.

5. Your content

Anything you configure (automod rules, welcome messages, ticket categories, etc.) or that gets logged through moderation action remains yours/your server's — see the Privacy Policy for how it's stored and for how long.

6. Reporting illegal content

ModDock stores and processes some content on behalf of the Discord servers using it — message logs, ticket transcripts, and reports, for example — but it all stays scoped to the private server it came from; nothing ModDock stores is made public. If you believe content ModDock is storing or relaying is illegal, contact tjerkbakker@protonmail.comwith details and we'll review it and act appropriately, which may include removing it from our records or restricting the relevant server's access to ModDock. For content on Discord itself, Discord's own reporting tools are the right first stop.

7. Paid features

ModDock is currently free to use. We may introduce optional paid features or plans in the future — if we do, pricing and billing terms will be shown clearly before you're charged, and this section will be updated with the specifics (billing cycle, refund policy, and cancellation terms).

8. No warranty

ModDock is provided "as is," without warranty of any kind. We don't guarantee it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at all times — it depends on third-party infrastructure (Discord, Vercel, Railway, Neon) outside our control.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we aren't liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of ModDock, including moderation actions taken by the bot, automod rules you configured, or downtime. This doesn't limit any liability that can't be excluded under the law of your country of residence.

10. Termination

You can stop using ModDock at any time by removing it from your server or no longer signing in to the dashboard. We may also discontinue the service entirely, with reasonable notice where possible.

11. Changes to these terms

If these Terms change materially, we'll update the date at the top. Continued use after a change means you accept the update.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have under the law of your own country of residence.

13. Who operates ModDock

ModDock is operated by an individual based in the Netherlands. Business registration number (KVK): [YOUR KVK NUMBER].
